Term 3 Week 6 - Tuesday Welcome to another wonderful day of learning in Year 0/1 at Elm Park School. Here are today’s tasks;  Literacy:  Reading:  Today we have Mrs Kerr from Room 1 reading “ On the Edge of the Sea” by Betty Paraskevas.  https://youtu.be/C6f5jWKJB8U Did you hear any rhyming words in the story? Write down as many of these as you can. You might need someone to help you identify and record a few of these words or you might be able to write them all out independently. Just remember to try your best! :)  Writing:   Learning Intention: We are learning how to use our word card to help us record sight words and sounds in our writing.  Mrs Kerr read a lovely story about the beach. Think about the last time that you went to the beach. Maybe you are lucky enough to have a beach close to your house that you can walk to while we’re staying at home.  Think about what you might see at the beach? What can you hear? What can you smell? Term 3 Week 6 - Monday  Welcome to another wonderful day of learning in Year 0/1 at Elm Park School. Here are today’s tasks;  Literacy:  Reading:  Our learning intention is: We are learning to recognise and make compound words.  A compound word is made up of two different words. See the example below.  Play with game to see if you can make some more compound words https://www.education.com/game/compound-word-fish/ Task: Can you find some ‘Compound Words?’, and write them down. Have a look in books that you have at home, or magazines, posters and junk mail from the letterbox.  Writing:  Learning Intention: We are learning how to use our word card to help us record sight words and sounds in our writing.    Have a look out of your window. You can use the below template to help you organise your ideas.  Writing:  Today we are going to publish our favourite piece of writing for the week!  You may like to do this by typing it out on a device or copying it in your neatest handwriting onto a piece of paper. You could ask someone to help you with this.  Your classroom teacher would LOVE to see your work. It might even get posted onto the blog for everyone to see! What would you do if these were to happen?  Writing:  This week’s learning intention is;  We are learning to put our capital letters in the right place.  Ready for some Karate Punctuation?  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MKmtIe2GEeQ&t=15s Let’s get writing! Imagine you are in an earthquake.  What can you see?  What can you feel?  What can you hear?  What can you smell?  What can you taste?  You may need someone to help you write a sentence about one of these points. You might like someone to read to you or you might like to read to them. The choice is yours!  Think about your favourite character. Use the below template to create a character profile. You may just like to draw your character or you may be able to complete the template independently. Have a hunt around your house for some stickers, an old magazine or some junk mail. Stick a picture in the middle of your page and illustrate around it. Get creative!
