Welcome to another wonderful day of learning in Year 0/1 at Elm Park School. Here are today’s tasks; 

Literacy:

Let’s get writing! Imagine you are in an earthquake. 

• What can you see? 

• What can you feel? 

• What can you hear? 

• What can you smell? 

• What can you taste? 

You may need someone to help you write a sentence about one of these points. You may be able to

answer each of these questions independently. Just do your best :) 

Remember to check that your capital letters are in the right place! 

Feel free to take a photo and email your writing to your classroom teacher. 

Numeracy: 

Today’s learning intention is; 

We are learning to recognise dice patterns. 

You are going to need a dice. Have a look inside some board games you might have at home or you

can use this online dice generator instead https://www.online-stopwatch.com/chance-games/roll-a-dice/

You will also need something to draw with and something to draw on. 

Roll the dice to decide what kind of body parts your monster is going to have! 

Don’t forget to send a photo to your teacher. She would love to see your scary monster! 

Visual Art: 

Today we are going to learn about warm and cool colours. 

Close your eyes and think about hot lava. What colours come to mind? 

Now close your eyes and think about the cool ocean. What colours come to mind now? 

Below is an example of warm and cool colours. You may remember making a similar colour wheel when we visited Te Tuhi earlier this year. 

Today’s art lesson requires you to create your own volcano using warm colours. Use whatever you have

at home; coloured pencils, coloured paper, paint, chalk etc. You will find some examples below. 

Science: 

This term Year 0/1 have started learning about Natural Disasters.
