Term 3 Week 7 - Friday
Term 3 Week 7 - Friday
Welcome to another wonderful day of learning in Year 0/1 at Elm Park School. Here are today’s tasks;
IMPORTANT REMINDER!
Today is the last day to get your talent show entries into your classroom teacher. Make sure you email
them through.
Reading:
Read the below poem about Spring. You might like to read it to someone in your bubble or you could
ask them to read it to you.
Writing:
Learning Intention: We are learning to put our punctuation in the right place.
Can you fix the sentence below?
Now have a go at completing a piece of writing of your own. You might like to publish one of the pieces
of writing you completed during the week by writing it out in your neatest handwriting or typing it on the
computer. Have a go and do your best! :)
Numeracy:
This term the Year 0/1 students have been learning about measurement. Today we will be learning how
to order and compare objects according to volume/ capacity.
For this activity you are going to need some various sized containers eg: tupperware or glass jars. You
will also need multiple of the same item to fill the containers with eg: marbles, toothpicks, almonds. Just
use whatever you have at home.
See how many you need to put into your container before it is full. Try this with a different sized container.
Do you think it will hold more, less or the same? I wonder if you can guess how many items are going to
fit in your container.
Science:
Try this apple science experiment.
Enviro:
Here is another task for Conservation Week! Do a garden bird survey and earn a Kiwi Guardians medal
for becoming a Manu Monitor. Click on the link below to learn more and to apply for your medal!
Jump Jam:
Friday’s at Elm Park School mean JUMP JAM! Luckily this doesn’t have to stop while we’re learning
from home. Click the link below and choose the song you’d like to jump and jam to today.
