Nau mai, haere mai to another wonderful day of learning in Year 0/1 at Elm Park School. Here are

today’s tasks;

Literacy:

Reading:

Click on the link below to hear the popular story “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” being read in Te Reo

Maori. If you happen to have this book at home you might like to follow along in English. Can you

recognise any of the Te Reo words? Do you know their English meanings?

Writing:

This week we are learning to stretch our sentences by including the 5 W’s in our writing (who, what,

when, where, why).

Can you retell the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar? Include as many of the 5 W’s as you can. You

might be able to write these ideas down independently or you might like to share them with someone

in your bubble who could help you to write your sentence. Just do your best. :)

Numeracy:

Today we are learning the names of shapes in Te Reo Maori.

Have a go at singing this song to help you remember the names of the shapes.

Health and Physical Education:

Have a try playing this game “Whano whano” with someone else in your bubble.

Dance:

Today we are going to learn how to make our own poi and perform a poi song/ dance.
