Term 3 Week 6 - Thursday
Welcome to another wonderful day of learning in Year 0/1 at Elm Park School. Here are today’s tasks;
Literacy:
Reading:
Today it’s story time with Mrs Kirby from Room 6! Click the link so we can read “Marmaduke Duck”
together.
Did you hear any rhyming words in the story? Write down as many of these as you can. You might need
someone to help you identify and record a few of these words or you might be able to write them all out
independently. Just remember to try your best! :)
Writing:
Learning Intention: We are learning how to use our word card to help us record sight words and sounds
in our writing.
Watch this video. What if your favourite animal was round?
Here are some great examples that Mrs Kirby from Room 6 and her family have created.
Someone at your house might like to help you to record the initial sounds that you can hear. You may
be able to write a sentence or even a whole page all by yourself. Just do your best :)
Remember to use your alphabet card to help you record the sight words and sounds.
Feel free to take a photo and email your writing to your classroom teacher.
Numeracy:
How many of these squares can you tick off?
Teddy Bears Picnic:
Let’s get outside! Find your favourite teddy bear or soft toy and take your lunch outside to eat today. You might
like to sit on a picnic rug and invite your family to join you. Listen to the Teddy Bear picnic Song to prepare.

Visual Art:
Get out into the garden and find some rocks to decorate. Use whatever you have to decorate
them. This could be felt pens, chalk or even paint! You might like to practise some patterns or
turn your rocks into different characters by adding faces to them. Here are some examples
below.
Enviro:
Let’s see if you can tick off some of these ‘40 things to do outside’
Thank you so much for learning with us today. Tune back in tomorrow for some more distance
learning lessons with your Year 0/1 teachers. :)
