Term 3 Week 6 - Tuesday
Term 3 Week 6 - Tuesday
Welcome to another wonderful day of learning in Year 0/1 at Elm Park School. Here are today’s tasks;
Literacy:
Reading:
Today we have Mrs Kerr from Room 1 reading “On the Edge of the Sea” by Betty Paraskevas.
Did you hear any rhyming words in the story? Write down as many of these as you can. You might
need someone to help you identify and record a few of these words or you might be able to write them
all out independently. Just remember to try your best! :)
Writing:
Learning Intention: We are learning how to use our word card to help us record sight words and sounds
in our writing.
Mrs Kerr read a lovely story about the beach. Think about the last time that you went to the beach.
Maybe you are lucky enough to have a beach close to your house that you can walk to while we’re
staying at home.
Think about what you might see at the beach? What can you hear? What can you smell? What can you
hear? What can you taste?
Someone at your house might like to help you to record the initial sounds that you can hear. You may be
able to write a sentence or even a whole page all by yourself. Just do your best :)
Remember to use your alphabet card to help you record the sight words and sounds.
Feel free to take a photo and email your writing to your classroom teacher.
Numeracy:
Learning Intention: We are learning to join two sets of objects together (addition).
Think about which of the following is going to work for you and try the below activities to help you get
adding!
Addition to 5 eg: 2+3=
Addition to 10 eg: 5+5=
Addition to 20 eg: 10+5=
Adding 2 digit numbers eg: 15+20=
Addition to 100 eg: 43+37=
Crafts:
Let’s learn how to make our own paper aeroplanes! Have a look at the link below for a few different
designs. You might like to see if someone else in your bubble would like to make one too. Take your
aeroplanes out to the backyard or to a local park to test them out!
