Term 3 Week 5 - Tuesday

Term 3 Week 5 - Tuesday

Welcome to another wonderful day of learning in Year 0/1 at Elm Park School. Here are today’s tasks;

Literacy:

Reading:

Today it’s story time with Mrs August from Room 5! Click the link so we can read “Green Eggs and Ham” together.

Did you hear any rhyming words in the story? Write down as many of these as you can. You might need someone to help you identify and record a few of these words or you might be able to write them all out independently. You could even try to make a word family flower with your rhyming words like the one below. Just remember to try your best! :)

Writing:

This week’s learning intention is;

We are learning to put our capital letters in the right place.

Try this Karate Punctuation game!

Sam-I-Am decided that he quite likes green eggs and ham after all, once he tried them. Your teacher would love to hear all about your favorite foods! Use the template below to help you with your writing today.

Someone at your house might like to help you by writing your favourite food down for you to copy. You may be able to follow this template all by yourself! Just do your best :)

Remember to check that your capital letters are in the right place!

Feel free to take a photo and email your writing to your classroom teacher.

Numeracy:

Today our learning intention is:

We are learning to identify different numbers.

Today we’d like you to ask someone at home to take you for a walk around your street or neighbourhood. You might like to ride your bike or scooter instead!

While you are out and about, have a look at the letterboxes. What numbers can you see? What number do you think will come after this number? What number came before?

You might need to ask for help to read the numbers you can see especially if there is more than one digit eg: 25. You might be able to read one, two and three digit numbers all by yourself. Remember to just do your best :)

Visual Art:

Click the link below and select something that you would like to learn to draw today.

  1. Thank you lovely teachers for your hard work creating the fantastic learning experiences on this daily blog and also in the hard packs you have supplied. Jack (R3) works on his daily tasks in the hard pack and then we choose some things to do from the blog. Yesterday we made play dough - great suggestion! Today we loved watching Mrs August read of our favourite stories and also Mrs Kirby and her wonderful ways to make music. We went for a lovely walk / scooter this afternoon and spotted many three-didget numbered letterboxes. Excited to check back in tomorrow! Thank you again! Jess and Jack Aspin ☺️

  2. We are really enjoying the daily blog. Toby enjoyed Mrs August reading to him and was very keen to try making storm noises as demonstrated by Mrs Kirby!
    The scavenger hunts have been so much fun and Toby's little sister has enjoyed accompanying him and me on walks to get everything ticked off!
    Thanks for all the work all of you are putting in, we really appreciate it!
    From Toby in Room 1 and his Mum :)
